Literacy: Grades K-12

Literacy K–12 Purpose: Build strong language and reading skills at every level. Who it’s for: Students in grades K–12 who need support developing or strengthening reading, writing, and comprehension skills. Key Focus: • Phonics, vocabulary, and word analysis • Reading fluency and accuracy • Writing fundamentals and written expression • Critical thinking and comprehension Overview: Many students struggle with foundational and advanced literacy skills. Some read fluently but have difficulty understanding or explaining what they’ve read, while others need extra support with vocabulary, comprehension, or expressing ideas in writing. As a learning specialist, my role is to pinpoint where a student’s literacy skills need strengthening and provide targeted, structured support that builds confidence and understanding over time.
